After just eight weeks of performances at Broadway's Schoenfeld Theatre, Peter Morgan's The Audience has recouped its $3.4 million production costs.

Two-time Tony Award winner Stephen Daldry directs the regal production, which has come to Broadway following a sold-out run on London's West End. Oscar winner Helen Mirren stars as Queen Elizabeth II, as the play explores her reign from 1952 to 2012 through her weekly meetings with England's prime ministers.

The cast also includes Dylan Baker (John Major), Geoffrey Beevers (The Queen's Equerry), Michael Elwyn (Sir Anthony Eden), Judith Ivey (Margaret Thatcher), Dakin Matthews (Winston Churchill), Richard McCabe (Harold Wilson), Rod McLachlan (Gordon Brown), Rufus Wright (David Cameron), Anthony Cochrane (Cecil Beaton, Detective, Bishop), Graydon Long (Footman, Beefeater), Jason Loughlin (Footman, Beefeater), Michael Rudko (Ensemble), Henny Russell (Queen's Secretary), Tracy Sallows (Bobo McDonald), Elizabeth Teeter and Sadie Sink (Young Elizabeth), and Tony Ward (ensemble).

The Audience opened on Broadway March 8. Performances are scheduled to run through June 28.
