Telly Leung, who has played the title character of Aladdin at the New Amsterdam Theatre since June 13, 2017, will play his final performance in the role on February 17, 2019, as Leung himself announced on Facebook and Walt Disney has confirmed.

Based on the 1992 Disney animated film, Aladdin opened on Broadway on March 20, 2014. With a score by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice with songs such as "Friend Like Me" and the Academy Award-winning "A Whole New World," the show features a new book and additional lyrics by Chad Beguelin.

In addition to Leung as Aladdin, the cast includes Arielle Jacobs as Jasmine, Major Attaway as Genie, and Jonathan Freeman as Jafar. The show also features Steel Burkhardt, Brian Gonzales, and Brad Weinstock as Aladdin's sidekicks Kassim, Babkak, and Omar, J.C. Montgomery as Sultan, and Don Darryl Rivera as Iago. Juwan Crawley, Dennis Stowe, and Deonté L. Warren stand by for several principals.
