Broadway icon Chita Rivera has announced a series of special events to celebrate the publication of Chita: A Memoir. The book will be published by HarperOne and is set for an April 25 release.

"I've long considered writing my memoirs, but I've never been one to look back…until now," said Rivera in a statement. "Now it feels right and with Patrick Pacheco, I couldn't be more pleased to pass on my experience to a new generation. I hope my words and thoughts about my life and career resonate and readers just might discover some things about me they never knew."

Rivera will travel throughout the tri-state area to engage in conversation about her new memoir with friends and fellow Broadway performers Nathan Lane, Harvey Fierstein, and Laura Benanti. Her co- writer Patrick Pacheco will also join her for two conversations in Connecticut and New York City's Drama Book Shop. For tickets and more information, click the links above.

Rivera originated numerous classic Broadway roles including Anita in West Side Story, Rose Grant in Bye Bye Birdie, and Velma Kelly in Chicago. She is a two-time Tony winner for her performances in The Rink and Kiss of the Spiderwoman, and earned a Special Tony Award For Lifetime Achievement in 2018.
