The Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots has announced that it will end its Broadway run on April 7, 2019. The show, which runs at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, will have played 2,507 regular performances and 34 previews.

Inspired by the 2005 British film of the same title, Kinky Boots features a Tony Award-winning score by Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, and direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell. Billy Porter won a 2013 Tony Award for originating the role of Lola, a sassy drag performer who helps rejuvenate a failing shoe factory by designing boots for his fellow drag queens.

The opening-night company was also led by Tony nominees Stark Sands and Annaleigh Ashford and was produced by Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig. The Kinky Boots national tour kicked off in September 2014 in Las Vegas.
