Giovanna Sardelli to Direct James McLindon’s Salvation

Giovanna Sardelli will direct the world premiere of James McLindon’s new dark comedy, Salvation, to be presented by Hudson Stage, October 29-November 13.

The play is about a dying criminal convinced he will go to heaven providing he makes the perfect deathbed confession. The cast will feature Josh Barrett, Paul Carlin, John FitzGibbon, and Jack O’Connell.

The creative team will include Steven Kemp (set), Andrew Gmoser (lighting), Paloma Young (costumes), and Jon Kadela (sound).

McClindon’s previous plays include Distant Music, a finalist for the Kaufman and Hart Prize for New American Comedy, as well as Dusk and A Brief History of Penguins and Promiscuity.

Sardelli was a 2008 recipient of the Joseph A. Callaway Award for excellence in stage directing and choreography, and her Off-Broadway credits include Animals Out of Paper, All This Intimacy and Wildflower.
