Casting has been announced for the Ford's Theatre pre-Broadway run of the new musical Come From Away. The Washington, D.C. engagement will run from September 2-October 9, with a further tryout at Toronto's Mirvish Theatre to follow, from November 15-January 1.

The cast, many of whom appeared in the 2015 La Jolla Playhouse and Seattle Rep productions of the musical, is set to include Broadway vets Chad Kimball (Memphis), Jenn Colella (If/Then), and Kendra Kassebaum (Wicked), as well as Geno Carr (Allegiance), Joel Hatch (Annie), Rodney Hicks (The Scottsboro Boys), Alyssa Wilmoth Keegan (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), Lee MacDougall (The Wizard of Oz), Caesar Samayoa (Sister Act), Q. Smith (Mary Poppins), Sharon Wheatley (Avenue Q), and Astrid Van Wieren (Mamma Mia!)

Featuring a book, music, and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, Come From Away is directed by Tony nominee Christopher Ashley (Memphis) and choreographed by Tony nominee Kelly Devine (Rocky). Set against the backdrop of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the show follows what happens when 38 planes and 6,579 passengers were forced to land in Gander, Newfoundland, doubling the population of "one small town on the edge of the world."

The show's creative team includes scenic design by Tony winner Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Tony nominee Toni-Leslie James, lighting design by Tony winner Howell Binkley, sound design by Tony nominee Gareth Owen, and music supervision by Ian Eisendrath.

Dates for a Broadway run are still to be announced.
