Jessica Ball, William Diggle, George Dvorsky, Gracie Jones et al. Set for Olney’s Sound of Music

Olney Theatre Center has announced casting for The Sound of Music, to be presented on the Mainstage, November 16-January 1.

Award-winning director Mark Waldrop will helm this musical, which since its debut on Broadway, has become a much-loved holiday tradition on stage and screen for generations of families. The Sound of Music‘s well-known musical standards include “The Sound of Music”, “Edelweiss”, “My Favorite Things”, “Climb Ev’ry Mountain” and “Do-Re-Mi.”

George Dvorsky plays Captain Von Trapp, while Jessica Ball portrays Maria.

The cast will also include Bobby Smith, Ethan Watermeier, Peter Boyer, DC Cathro, David Frankenberger, Danny Yoerges, John Fritz, Tracy McMullan, Christine Lacey, Maria Egler, Maggie Donovan, Caitlin Deerin, Carolyn Youstra, Caroline Coleman, Sydney Maloney, Julia Laje, Ella Gatlin, Svea Johnson, Heidi Kaplan, Austin Lemere, Jake Foster, Brendan DeBonis, Ari Goldbloom-Helzner, John Fritz, Monica Lijewski, Channez McQuay, Jenna Sokolowski, K. Paone-McDonald, Tracy Lynn Olivera, and Donna Migliaccio.

The creative team will be comprised of musical director Christopher Youstra, scenic designer James Fouchard, costume coordinators Jeanne Bland and Seth Gilbert, and lighting designer Charlie Morrison.
