Olney Theatre Center to Kick Off National Tour with Romeo and Juliet

By Bethany Rickwald • Jul 31, 2012 • Washington, DC
Olney Theatre Center is set to kick off its 64th national tour with two free outdoor performances of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, August 24 and 25 at 8 pm on The Root Family Stage.

In this production, National Players, America's longest-running touring company, has re-imagined one of Shakespeare's most enduring tales.

Based at Olney Theatre Center since 1953, National Players was founded on the principle of working with communities that have limited access to live theatre. The company is comprised of professional young actors who travel across the country each year performing two plays in repertory.
