Performances of Road Show begin this evening at Signature Theatre.

Inspired by the real-life Mizner brothers, the musical spans the globe from the Klondike gold rush to India, Hawaii, Guatemala, New York, and eventually the real-estate boom of Boca Raton, Florida. Over 40 years, the brothers seek out the amorphous and elusive American Dream through booms and busts of the early 20th century and with bouts of brotherly love and hate. The musical travelogue takes a close look at the optimism and opportunism of the time through the lens of two ambitious, eccentric, and charming individuals.

Featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by John Weidman, Road Show is directed by Gary Griffin. The cast is composed of Josh Lamon as Addison Mizner, Noah Racey as Wilson Mizner, Matthew Schleigh as Hollis Bessemer, Sherri Edelen as Mama Mizner, Dan Manning as Papa Mizner, Erin Driscoll as Mary Monahan/Mrs. Cosden, and making up the Ensemble is Jason Labrador, Jake Mahler, Angela Miller, Bobby Smith, and Stefan Alexander Kempski.

"Road Show marks the 26th production of a Sondheim musical at Signature," said Eric Schaeffer, Signature Theatre artistic director. "I'm thrilled that Gary Griffin is bringing his acclaimed staging of Sondheim's latest musical to Signature."

The creative team includes Jon Kalbfleisch (musical direction), Scott Davis (set design), Ivania Stack (costume design), Joel Shier (lighting design), Lane Elms (sound design), Anne Nesmith (wig design), Jacob Kidder (pianist), and Kerry Epstein (stage manager).

Performances will run through March 13.
