Green Day’s American Idiot North American Tour to Play Boston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Toronto and More

An initial lineup of cities and venues has been announced for the North American tour of American Idiot, which will launch with an engagement at the Toronto Centre for the Arts.

Other venues for the tour include: The Opera House in Detroit, MI; Opera House in Boston, MA; Memorial Auditorium in Raleigh, NC; Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, MN; Eisenhower Auditorium in State College, PA; Peabody Opera House in St. Louis, MO; Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, CA; Gammage Auditorium in Tempe, AZ; AT&T PAC in Dallas, TX; Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, CA; and Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA. Additional cities and venues will be announced shortly.

American Idiot, which follows a group of working-class characters, is directed by Michael Mayer, who co-wrote the musical’s book with Green Day frontman Billie Jo Armstrong, and features orchestrations by Tom Kitt, and choreography by Steven Hoggett. The show has won the 2011 Grammy Award for “Best Musical Show Album,” two 2010 Tony Awards, a Drama Desk Award, and an Outer Critics Circle Award, among other honors.

The creative team includes scenic designer Christine Jones, costume designer Andrea Lauer, lighting designer Kevin Adams, sound designer Brian Ronan, and video designer Darrel Maloney.
