Grease National Tour to End May 23

The national tour of Grease will play its final leg at the Palace Theater in Cleveland, Ohio, May 11-23. The planned Boston engagement of the tour, which was to have run in June, has been canceled.

Grease features book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. Additional songs from the movie are by Barry Gibb, John Farrar, Louis St. Louis and Scott Simon. The touring production of the musical, based on the recent Broadway revival, is directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall and features four songs from the 1978 film version of Grease, including “Sandy,” “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “Grease” and “You’re the One That I Want.

The touring cast currently stars former American Idol contestant Ace Young as Danny and Lauren Ashley Zakrin (Sandy), and features American Idol‘s Taylor Hicks as Teen Angel. The cast also includes Will Blum (Roger), Kate Morgan Chadwick (Frenchy), Bridie Carroll (Jan), Laura D’Andre (Rizzo), Kelly Felthous (Marty), Allison Fischer (Patty Simcox), Dominic Fortuna (Vince Fontaine), Jesse JP Johnson (Doody), Roxie Lucas (Miss Lynch), David Ruffin (Kenickie), Jamison Scott (Eugene), and Nick Verina (Sonny).

The creative team includes Derek McLane (scenic design), Martin Pakledinaz (costume design), Kenneth Posner (lighting design) and Brian Ronan (sound design).
