The Asolo Repertory Theatre has announced casting for its production of Christopher McGovern's Backwards in High Heels: the Ginger Musical, to run May 4-30. Scott Schwartz will direct the production, which will feature choreography by Patti Colombo and musical direction by Tim Robertson.

Following its run in Florida, the production will be seen at the Arizona Theatre Company, the San Jose Repertory Theatre, and the Cleveland Play House.

The piece celebrates the remarkable life and times of Ginger Rogers, looking at both the performer's public and private life. The company will feature Anna Aimee White (Ginger), Elizabeth Ward Land (Lela), Christianne Tisdale (Ethel Merman/ensemble), Matthew LaBanca (Fred Astaire/ensemble), Benjie Randall (Lew Aires/ensemble), and Craig Waletzko (Hermes Pan/ensemble).

The creative team will include Walt Spangler (scenic design), Alejo Vietti (costume design), Jeff Croiter (lighting design), Matthew Parker (sound design), and Michelle Hart (wig and hair design).
