Jay H. Harris to Receive The George Abbott Award at the Annual Carbonell Awards Ceremony

Commercial theater producer Jay H. Harris will receive the George Abbott Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Arts at the annual Carbonell Awards ceremony, April 2 at 7:30pm at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

Harris is a member of The League of American Theaters and Producers who served on the Board of Directors of the Carbonell Awards from 2001 to 2008, including two terms as president. His credits include providing assistance for the world premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Anna in the Tropics and producing its commercial London premiere. In South Florida, He launched the world premiere of Say Goodnight Gracie.

Harris’ award will be presented by Joy Abbott, widow of George Abbott, and theater critic for the Miami Herald, Christine Dolen.
