Broward Stage Door Theatre has announced the production lineup for its 2012-2013 season.

The season will kick off in October with Neil Simon’s Rumors (October 19-November 11), a comedy about a failed dinner party thrown by the deputy mayor of New York City. Then, Stage Door will present 6 Dance Lessons in 6 Weeks (November 9-December 2), which tells the story of Lily, a formidable retired woman who hires an ex-Broadway chorus boy to give her private dance lessons. The World Goes Round (December 28-January 20) will start off the new year with a retrospective of the work of Kander and Ebb.

Damn Yankees (January 18-February 10) will introduce audiences to Joe Boyd, who sells his soul to the Devil for a chance to help his team. Ira Levin’s comic mystery Death Trap (February 8-March 3) finds a once famous playwright struggling to decide what to do when he receives a more-than-promising manuscript from an aspiring writer. In March, Stage Door will present Jersey Girls (March 1-24), which features beloved songs from Mame, Hello Dolly!, La Cage Aux Folles, and more. The season will close with Beau Jest (April 5-28), a play about a young school teacher who hires an actor to play her boyfriend for the sake of her parents.
