Tony Award-winner Jane Alexander will host the Spoleto Festival USA's annual gala, on May 23, which will honor Spoleto's Artistic Director for Chamber Music, Charles Wadsworth. The festival, located in Charleston, South Carolina, will run May 22-June 7.

The evening will include the opening performance of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, cocktails, tributes and toasts to Wadsworth, a seated dinner, and dancing.

Alexander won a Tony for her performance in The Great White Hope and was Tony-nominated for The Sisters Rosensweig, 6 Rms Riv Vu, Find Your Way Home, First Monday in October, The Visit, and Honour. She is the former chair of the National Endowment for the Arts and will star Off-Broadway in the world premiere of Tina Howe's Chasing Manet later this season.
