Also on the theater's schedule is Nathan Louis Jackson's Broke-ology (January 25 - February 20). Leon will direct this piece that explores a family coping with a father's failing health and the ongoing deterioration of the neighborhood in which they live. Next spring, Jasmine Guy will direct a revival of George C. Wolfe's The Colored Museum (March 22 - April 17) and Todd Kreidler will direct Guy in a revival of Sam Shepard's A Fool For Love (May 10 - June 19).
The theater's programming will be rounded out with a Christmastime offering of Langston Hughes' Black Nativity, (November 23 - December 30), adapted, directed and choreographed by Patdro Harris.
In related news, the theater has announced that Leon will be taking part in talkback following the June 16 performance of August Wilson's Jitney at the Alliance Theatre. During the discussion, Leon will talk about his experiences directing August Wilson's Fences on Broadway, the Tony Awards and being nominated for Best Director, the theater he has founded, which has also produced Jitney.
