Eve Ensler’s Emotional Creature to Premiere at Berkeley Rep in June

Eve Ensler’s newest show, Emotional Creature, will premiere in the Berkeley Repertory Theatre‘s Roda Theatre, running June 15 – July 15, 2012. Jo Bonney will direct the production, which will have music and musical direction by Charl-Johan Lingenfelder.


The piece is based on Ensler’s novel I Am an Emotional Creature: The Secret Life of Girls Around the World. Staged. The show will be comprised of original monologues and songs about and for girls, and the diversity and commonality of the issues they face.

Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues has been translated into 48 languages and performed in over 140 countries. Her other plays include The Good Body and Here. She has also written the memoir Insecure at Last, and co-edited, with Mollie Doyle, the anthology A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant, and a Prayer. In addition, she is the creator of V-Day, a global movement to stop violence against women and girls.
