Fusco is basing his adaptation on Malachi Bogdanov's 2008 film The Mandrake Root, itself an adaptation of the play. In it, a cunning man concocts an elaborate ruse to sleep with a beautiful young woman.
The cast will include Rebekah Brockman (Lucrezia), Raymond Castelán (Brother Timoteo), Allegra Rose Edwards (Sostrata), Ethan Frank (Siro/Waiter), Nick Steen (Ligurio), Tyee J. Tilghman (Nicia), and Titus Tompkins (Callimaco).
