Tony Award winner Lea Salonga will offer a concert as the centerpiece of the 2012 Globe Gala, to be held on Saturday, July 28. The event will raise funds in support of The Old Globe Theatre’s education and artistic programs.

Salonga won a Tony Award for her performance in Miss Saigon and her stage credits also include Les Miserables and Cinderella. In addition, her voice has been heard in the Disney movies Mulan and Aladdin. As previously reported, she will star, along with Telly Leung and George Takei, in the world premiere musical Allegiance at the theater this fall.

The 2012 Globe Gala will begin with a reception and silent auction in Balboa Park’s Alcazar Garden, followed by Salonga’s performance on the Old Globe’s Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage.
