Young Jean Lee, Universes, Rhiana Yazzie to Pen Works for Oregon Shakespeare Festival's American Revolutions

Korean-born playwright and director Young Jean Lee, performance poetry ensemble Universes, and Navajo playwright Rhiana Yazzie will each write new works that look at moments of change in America's past, with the goal of establishing a shared understanding of our national identity and illuminate the best paths for our nation's future.
As previously announced, the first round of commissioned works were assigned to Culture Clash (Richard Montoya, Ric Salinas and Herbert Siguenza), David Henry Hwang, Lynn Nottage, Suzan-Lori Parks, Robert Schenkkan, Naomi Wallace, and the collaborative team of Jonathan Moscone and Tony Taccone. The first of the History Cycle commissions -- Culture Clash's American Night -- will be produced at OSF in 2010 for its 75th anniversary.
