The Vineyard Theatre has announced that its upcoming 2016 Gala will honor Vineyard Board President and award-winning actress Kathleen Chalfant and New York theatrical press agent Sam Rudy. The annual fundraiser is set to take place on March 14 at The Edison Ballroom.

Broadway veteran Kathleen Chalfant is Vineyard Theatre’s newly elected Board President and has entered her 20th year of Board service. She made her Vineyard premiere in the 1983 production of Brian Friel’s Faith Healer, later appearing in The Party, and more. In addition to the advocacy she has brought to this organization, the Vineyard honors Kathleen Chalfant for her contributions to the field and her generous philanthropy.

On Broadway, Chalfant received a Tony nomination for her work in Angels in America: Millennium Approaches. Most recently, she has played recurring roles in Showtime’s The Affair, Netflix’s House of Cards, and FX’s The Strain.

Sam Rudy has spent 35 years in New York working as a publicist for countless shows on, off, and off-off Broadway. For 25 years, he has represented Vineyard Theatre, where he has worked with such celebrated writers as Edward Albee, John Kander, Paula Vogel, and Nicky Silver. Broadway productions represented include Hamilton, Cinderella, and The Last Ship. He is also the publicist of Cherry Lane Theatre, La MaMa, and Ma-Yi Theater Company.

The Vineyard’s Gala event will include a cocktail hour and auction, dinner, and a performance. Tables are $25,000, $15,000, and $10,000, and individual tickets are $2,500, $1,500, and $1,000.

Tickets can be purchased by emailing gala@vineyardtheatre.org or calling 212-353-3366, ext. 227.
