Glenn Close to Receive 2012 Matrix Award

Tony Award winner Glenn Close will be among the recipients of the 2012 Matrix Awards, to be presented on April 23 in a ceremony at the Waldorf-Astoria. The prizes recognize women who have made exception achievements in the communications industry.

The Matrix Awards will also honor Tyra Banks, Gayle Butler, Maria Cuomo Cole, Ann Curry, Laura Desmond, Zenia Mucha, and Peggy Noonan.

Close is currently on the big screen in the title role of Albert Nobbs, for which she has received a Golden Globe nomination, and appeared in the play’s Off-Broadway production/


She won Tony Awards for her roles in The Real Thing, Death and the Maiden, and Sunset Boulevard, and also received a Tony nomination for Barnum.


She has received Academy Award nominations for her performances in Dangerous Liaisons, Fatal Attraction, The Natural, The Big Chill, and The World According to Garp.
