Obie Award winners David Greenspan and Everett Quinton will star in the world premiere of William M. Hoffman and Anthony Holland's Cornbury: The Queen's Governor, to be presented by Theatre Askew at the Hudson Guild Theatre, January 24-February 8. Tim Cusack will direct.
This satirical look at a lost chapter in New York history revolves around Edward Hyde, Lord Cornbury, who was the English governor of New York and New Jersey, from 1702-1708. A controversial figure, he is now remembered primarily for his rumored habit of dressing as his first cousin, Queen Anne.
The cast will also include Ken Kliban, Bianca Leigh, and Jenne Vath. The production will feature sets by Mark Beard and costumes by David Zyla.
