The New York Pops opened its 2011-2012 Carnegie Hall season with Irving Berlin: Rags to Ritzes, on October 14. The event was conducted by Jack Everly and featured performances by Ashley Brown, Tony DeSare, James T. Lane, Hugh Panaro, and Natasha Yvette Williams.

Guests at the evening’s performance included stage and screen actor George Takei; Mary Ellin Barrett, the daughter of composer Irving Berlin; as well as other members of the Berlin family.
