Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, Estelle Parsons, et al. to Pay Tribute to Gerald Freedman at Joe’s Pub

Some of Broadway’s greatest talents will pay tribute to award-winning director and teacher, Gerald Freedman at Sonnet Repertory Theatre’s 10th annual benefit & cabaret at Joe’s Pub on Monday, November 14. Wesley Taylor will host.

Participants will include Brian d’Arcy James, Jennifer Ferrin, Penny Fuller, Hal Holbrook, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Jeremy Jordan, Kevin Kline, Terrence Mann, John Mauceri, Patti LuPone, Estelle Parsons, Austin Pendleton, Bryce Pinham, Alfred Uhry, and Price Waldman. There will also be special tributes by Olympia Dukakis and Chita Rivera.

Freedman was the leading director of Joseph Papp’s New York Shakespeare Festival from 1960 through 1971 (the last four years as artistic director), and the first American invited to direct at London’s Globe Theatre. He is presently the Dean of the School of Drama at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
