Stage veterans John Hurt and Sebastian Stan will star in the three-part mini-series Labyrinth, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Christopher Smith will direct.

Adapted by Adrian Hodges from Kate Mosse’ best-selling thriller of the same name, the story centers on a search for the holy grail, and is set in both modern and Medieval France.

The cast will also include Emun Elliott, Jessica Brown-Findlay, Claudia Gerini, Vanessa Kirby, Katie McGrath, and Janet Suzman.

Hurt has had a long stage career in England appearing in such plays as The Importance of Being Earnest, The Caretaker, and The Seagull. He is best known for his film work, including starring in the film version of The Elephant Man.

Stan played Kent in the Broadway production of Talk Radio. He played the recurring role of Carter Baizen on CW’s Gossip Girl, and Bucky in the film Captain America: The First Avenger.

The mini-series is being produced by Germany’s Tandem Communications, Ridley and Tony Scott’s Scott Free Films, and Film Afrika Worldwide in association with Universal Production Partners.
