(© Alicia Zappier) | Winners for the first annual MITF Awards, celebrating excellence in the eighth annual Midtown International Theatre Festival, which ran July 16-August 5, were presented at the Zipper Theatre on Sunday, September 9.
Alex Goldberg's comedy I'm In Love With Your Wife, which starred television star Ron Palillo, won Outstanding Playwriting for a New Script as well as the MITF Congeniality Award, which came with a $250 cash prize.
Jan Leslie Harding was named Outstanding Overall Actress in a Musical for her work in Take Me America, which also won the award for Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical and Outstanding Overall Actor in a Musical for Eric Chan. Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? won three awards, including Outstanding Overall Production of a Play.
