Marcia Milgrom Dodge to Direct Around the World in 80 Days at Pittsburgh Public Theater; Season Announced

Tony Award nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge will direct Pittsburgh Public Theater’s production of Around the World in 80 Days, adapted by Mark Brown from the novel by Jules Verne. The production will run April 12 – May 13, 2012.

Set in 1872, the play concerns Phileas Fogg, who has accepted a bet to travel around the globe in record time. With his eccentric French manservant, the unflappable Fogg encounters a monsoon at sea, boards a runaway train, and rescues an Indian princess, among other daring adventures. The theater’s season will also include Sophocles’ Electra, adapted by Frank McGuinness and directed by Ted Pappas (September 29-October 30); John Logan’s Red, directed by Pamela Berlin (November 10-December 11); The Second City’s Laugh Out Loud! (January 5-7); Shakespeare’s As You Like It, directed by Ted Pappas (January 19-February 19); Mark St. Germain’s Freud’s Last Session, directed by Mary Robinson (March 1- April 1); and Noel Coward’s Private Lives, directed by Ted Pappas (May 24-June 24).
