Anne Hathaway, Romola Garai, Ken Stott, Jim Sturgess, et al. Star in One Day Movie

Academy Award and Drama Desk Award nominee Anne Hathaway will star in a film adaptation of David Nicholls’ novel One Day,

Academy Award nominee Lone Scherfig will direct the picture, which will have a screenplay by Nicholls. The film centers on a working-class woman’s romance with a charming rich man, to be played by Jim Sturgess.

The supporting cast include Romola Garai, Jamie Sives, Rafe Spall, Ken Stott, and Jodie Whittaker (Film4’s Venus).

Hathaway appeared in the Shakespeare in the Park production of Twelfth Night, for which she received a Drama Desk Award nomination, and the City Center Encores! production of Carnival. She received an Oscar nomination for Rachel Getting Married. Among her other film credits are Brokeback Mountain, The Devil Wears Prada, Ella Enchanted and The Princess Diaries.
