 | | Ian Bruce | San Jose Repertory has announced that South African playwright Ian Bruce's Groundswell will replace the previously scheduled Landscape with Weapon in the company's 2009-2010 season. The production will run October 10-November 8.
Set in a guest house on the jagged edge of the South African diamond coast, Groundswell is a psychological thriller about dashed dreams, enduring hope and the seductive promises of a transforming society. San Jose Rep postponed Landscape with Weapon due to a newly planned film of the play being made in the U.K., but still plans to produce it at a future date.
The San Jose Rep season, the first under the artistic direction of Rick Lombardo, will also include As You Like It (August 29-September 27), A Christmas Story (November 21-December 20), The Weir (January 23-February 21), Ain't Misbehavin' (March 13-April 18), and Sonia Flew (May 8-June 6).
