GAYFEST NYC, a festival of new gay-themed plays, will run at the TBG Arts Center, May 14-June 15.

The festival will kick off with Edward the King (May 14-24) by David Brendan Hopes, directed by Sidney J. Burgoyne. A reimagining of the story of Edward II, the production will star Jo Ann Cunningham, Chad Hoeppner, Megan McQuillan, Patrick Porter, and Brian Charles Rooney.

That production will be followed by Spill the Wine (May 27-June 1) by Brian Dykstra, directed by Margarett Perry, about a woman with a fatal disease who leaves her husband and finds herself attracted to a woman; Jumping Blind (June 4-14) by Philip Gerson, a World War II romance between an English resistance fighter and a wounded German soldier; The Wrath of Aphrodite (May 23-June 1) by Tim O'Leary, directed by Martin Casella, a radical re-imaging of the Greek tragedy; and Hollywood Reunion (June 6-15), an autobiographical comedy written by and starring Steve Hayes.

In addition, the festival will present talk-backs with the authors of the festival plays, appearances by celebrated members of the LGBT community, and other events.
