James Godwin to Perform Lunatic Cunning at Dixon Place

James Godwin will perform his semi-autobiographical show Lunatic Cunning at Dixon Place, April 6-21.

In the piece, the puppetry and performance art pioneer blends experiences from his own life, such as working with Julie Taymor on Across the Universe and appearances on Saturday Night Live and Chappelle’s Show, with Jim Henson’s Muppets.

Godwin served as a Muppet performer on Elmo’s Christmas Countdown and A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa. Among his other credits are It’s a Big Big World, ,The Book of Pooh, Between the Lions, and Oobi.


In addition, he founded the puppet troupe the Elementals, and co-wrote and starred in the adult puppet variety stage show Uncle Jimmy’s Dirty Basement.
