Doris Day – With a Smile and a Song CDs Set for April 3 Release

Sony Masterworks will release the two CD set, Doris Day – With a Smile and a Song, on April 3.

The new double-disc package will feature 31 tracks which the performer herself has selected. Among the selections on the discs will be numbers from Day’s films, including “It’s Magic” from Romance On The High Seas and “Whatever Will Be Will Be (Que Sera Sera),” from Alfred Hitchcock’s The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956), as well as the title track from Love Me Or Leave Me. The discs will also include studio recordings of “But Beautiful, “Easy to Love,” and “Fools Rush In.”

In related news, it has been announced that Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will offer a five-night salute to Day, running April 2-6, and Warner Home Video has released TCM Greatest Classic Legends: Doris Day, a new four-movie DVD package of memorable Day performances, that includes the films Romance on the High Seas, Love Me Or Leave Me, Calamity Jane, and Please Don’t Eat the Daisies, along with vintage shorts and period newsreels.
