Nilo Cruz to Receive Playwright Master’s Award from Downtown Urban Theater Festival

Pulitzer Prize winner Nilo Cruz will receive the Downtown Urban Theater Festival’s first-ever Playwright Master’s Award on the opening night of the festival, at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center, on Wednesday, April 13 at 7pm.

Cruz won the Pulitzer for his 2003 play, Anna in the Tropics. Additional works include Lorca in a Green Dress, Night Train to Bolina, A Bicycle Country, Dancing on Her Knees, A Park in Our House, Two Sisters and A Piano, Hortensia, Beauty of the Father, and The Museum of Dreams.

The festival will run April 13-23, with all events taking place at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center.
