Tyler Perry’s The Marriage Counselor will make its New York premiere at the Beacon Theatre, running April 7-12, and April 29-May 3.

In the play, an Ivy League-educated marriage counselor and her accountant husband take care of his fanatic father and her retired Bible-totin’ mom, who both live in the house, but do not get along.

The play will star Palmer Williams Jr. as Floyd, Tamar Davis as Judith Jackson, Tony Grant as Roger Jackson, and Alltrinna Grayson as T.T. The cast will also include Myra Beasley, Timon Kyle Durrett, Stephanie Ferrett, Johnny Gilmore, Nicole Jackson, Brandi Milton, and Donnie Sykes.

Perry’s plays include Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Madea Goes to Jail, which has been made into a major motion picture. He is also well known for his hit sit-com, House of Payne.
