Jim Broadbent, Helena Bonham Carter, Ruby Dee, James Earl Jones, Garrison Keillor, Terence Stamp, and Meryl Streep will be featured as poetry readers on the album Words For You, to be released from Mighty Village/Universal/UMe on April 12.

In this unique project, the actors’ interpretation of works by Shakespeare, Walt Whitman, Edgar Allen Poe and Maya Angelou are paired with the music of classical giants such as Chopin, Debussy, Grieg, and Mahler.

The album also features readings by Amber Rose Johnson, the teenage winner of the 2010 Poetry Out Loud competition.

All artist royalties from the album will be donated to the charity First Book, which provides brand new, high-quality books to children in need as a means of fostering literacy.
