Cedric the Entertainer Lands TVLand Series

Cedric the Entertainer, who co-starred in the 2008 Broadway revival of American Buffalo, will star in a new series for TVLand, according to Deadline.com.


The series, to be co-written by the star, will have him playing Reverend Boyle who moves back to his hometown, where has to balance his wild past with the expectations of his congregation and family. Niecy Nash will also star on the show, which is still untitled.


Cedric the Entertainer recently hosted he NBC summer series It’s Worth What? and guest starred on TVLand’s Hot in Cleveland, on which he first played the role of Reverend Boyce.
