The HBO film of Laurence Fishburne’s performance in Thurgood will premiere on the network on Thursday, February 24 at 9pm (ET/PT). Michael Stevens has directed the project, which preserves a performance that Fishburne gave at the Kennedy Center’s Eisenhower Theatre.
Thurgood, seen on Broadway in 2008, is a biographical portrait of Thurgood Marshall, who rose from a childhood in the backstreets of Baltimore to the Supreme Court of the United States.
For his work in the play on Broadway, Fishburne received Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Outstanding Solo Performance, as well as a Tony nomination for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play.
Additional airdates include February 24 at 3:55am (ET) and Ferbruary 27 11:45 am (ET).
