Belarus Free Theatre’s Being Harold Pinter to Play Chicago’s Goodman Theatre, Northwestern University, and Chicago Shakespeare

Revised dates and venues have been announced for the Chicago run of Belarus Free Theatre’s production of Vladimir Shcherban’s Being Harold Pinter, which will now perform in three locations, January 27-February 20.
The play, directed by Shcherban, juxtaposes transcripts from Belarusian political prisoners with excerpts from Harold Pinter’s plays, including The Homecoming, Ashes to Ashes, and Old Times, as well as his other writing, such as his Nobel Prize speech. The work is presented in Belarusian and Russian with English supertitles.
As previously reported, The Goodman Theatre will present a limited engagement of the play, with revised dates of January 27-29. The show will then play the Theatre and Interpretation Center at Northwestern University’s Mussetter-Struble Theater, February 4-13. The last leg of the Chicago run will be at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, February 18-20.
The Chicago performances follow the company’s run at the Under the Radar Festival and a period of hiding for the group in their homeland.
