Glimmerglass Opera to Present Dido, Queen of Carthage at NYC’s Morgan Library

Glimmerglass Opera is set to present Dido, Queen of Carthage – Love and Fatal Destiny, a program of poetry and music at the Morgan Library & Museum on Wednesday, February 18 at 7:30 pm.

The program features songs from works by Berlioz, Cavalli, Purcell and Rossini, among others. Music will be linked with dramatic readings from Virgil’s Aeneid. Featured performers for the evening include mezzo-soprano Julie Boulianne, and tenors Brian Stucki and Lawrence Jones. The concert will also feature members of the company’s 2009 Young American Artists Program, including sopranos Jamilyn Manning-White, Kathryn Guthrie and Jacqueline Noparstak, countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo, and bass-baritone Damien Pass.
