Full casting has been announced for The Collegiate Chorale's concert staging of the 1945 Kurt Weill-Ira Gershwin musical, The Firebrand of Florence, to be held at Alice Tully Hall on March 12 at 7pm. Ted Sperling will conduct the New York City Opera Orchestra, and Roger Rees will be the narrator.

Featuring a book by Gershwin and Edwin Justus Mayer, based on Mayer's play The Firebrand, the show revolves around Florentine artist Benvenuto Cellini whose death by hanging sentence is pardoned by the Duke so that he can complete a previously commissioned sculpture.

Joining previously announced stars Victoria Clark as the Duchess, Nathan Gunn as Benvenuto Cellini, Anna Christy as Angela, and Terrence Mann as Duke of Florence are Kristy Swann as Emilia, Patrick Goss as Ottaviano di Medici, and David Pittu as Maffio, Ascanio, and Pierre.

The Collegiate Chorale's 2008-2009 season will also include the Little Organ Mass on February 9 at St. Thomas Church, and Gluck's Alceste on May 26 at The Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
