 | Julie White in The Little Dog Laughed | Nominees for the 18th annual GLAAD Media Awards were announced today. Ceremonies will be held in New York on March 26 at the Marriott Marquis; in Los Angeles on April 14 at the Kodak Theatre; in San Francisco on April 28 at the Westin St. Francis; and in South Florida on May 10 at the JW Marriott Miami.
The nominees for Outstanding New York Theater (Broadway and Off-Broadway) are 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother, The History Boys, The Little Dog Laughed, Measure for Pleasure, and [title of show].
The nominees for Outstanding New York Theater (Off-Off-Broadway) are 33 to Nothing, Candy and Dorothy, Dina Martina: Sedentary Lady, Kiss and Cry, and Sinner.
The nominees for Outstanding Los Angeles Theater are Blubonnet Court, Doubt, A Man of No Importance, Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, and Play It Cool.
Other notable nominees include The History Boys and John Cameron Mitchell's Shortbus for Outstanding Film (Limited Release); the TV series Brothers & Sisters, created by Jon Robin Baitz, for Outstanding Drama Series; and former New York Times drama critic Frank Rich for Outstanding Newspaper Columnist. In addition, singer Patti LaBelle will receive a special award.
