The Fred Ebb Foundation, in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company, has announced that Douglas J. Cohen have been awarded the sixth annual Fred Ebb Award for Musical Theatre Songwriting, which is named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist. The prize includes $50,000.

Cohen's many credits include The Opposite of Sex, The Big Time, No Way to Treat A Lady, The Gig, Children's Letters to God, Boozy, and Barnstormer. His newest work is Nine Lives, written with Dan Elish.
