Tony Award winner B.D. Wong will star in a staged concert of Robert Lee and Keon Ko's Heading East, to be offered May 24-26 in the Lila Acheson Wallace Auditorium at the Asia Society. Darren Lee will direct the production, which will benefit the Asia Society.

Set primarily in San Francisco and spanning 1848-1981, the musical tells the story of a brazen young man who travels from drought- and famine-ridden China to the shores of Gold Rush-era California determined to be the next great American success story.

The company will also feature Cindy Cheung, Fay Ann Lee, Manu Narayan, MaryAnn Hu, Ming Lee, Angela Lin, Kelvin Moon Loh, Hazel Anne Raymundo, Jon Norman Schneider, Rodney To and Virginia Wing. Lex Liang will serve as production designer.
