Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez will star in a reading of Matthew Lopez's new play Tio Pepe, to take place at 7:30pm on Wednesday, May 23 at Luna Stage in Montclair, New Jersey. The reading, to be directed by Harriet Power, will co-star Chad Hoeppner, Mike Caban, and Keith Caban.

Lopez will play Inez Candelaria, who along with her three children are singers, dancers, and actors living in 1950s New York who dream of a life of Broadway gypsies. That dream is challenged by the fact that their apartment building is about to demolished to make way for Lincoln Center.

Lopez received a Tony Award for A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine and received a Tony nomination for her portrayal of Morales in the original production of A Chorus Line. She is currently starring Off-Broadway in the musical In the Heights, which received a 2007 Drama Desk Award for Best Ensemble.
