Richard Gere, Bernadette Peters Join Cast of Roundabout Gala, Honoring Rob Marshall

Richard Gere and Bernadette Peters have joined the line-up of performers for the Roundabout Theatre Company’s 2012 spring gala, From Screen to Stage, at Hammerstein Ballroom on Monday, March 12. The event will honor Rob Marshall, who will receive the Jason Robards Award for Theatrical Excellence.

As previously reported, Martin Short will host the event, with performers also including Christine Baranski, Boyd Gaines, Victor Garber, Donna Murphy, and Kelli O’Hara.

Marshall began his career with Roundabout working on musicals such as She Loves Me, Company, Little Me, and the Tony Award-winning production Cabaret. For Hollywood, he directed the Academy Award-winning Chicago, the summer blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and the film adaptaion of the musical NINE, among others.

All proceeds from this event benefit Roundabout Theatre Company’s Musical Theatre Fund.
