Transport Group announced the world premiere of five-time Tony Award nominee Michael John LaChiusa’s Beautiful Jolie Gabor, Her Glamorous Three Daughters, and Always the Happiness Is Life, starring three-time Tony Award nominee Mary Testa in the title role.
Directed by artistic director Jack Cummings III, the new musical is part of the company’s 25th anniversary season.
Running June 11-July 18, 2027, at Theater 555, Beautiful Jolie Gabor, Her Glamorous Three Daughters, and Always the Happiness Is Life is the fourth LaChiusa work produced by Transport Group, and the second LaChiusa commission from the company. The production will feature a live ten-piece orchestra and orchestrations by Tony winner Michael Starobin, choreography by Alex Sanchez, scenic design by Tony winner Dane Laffrey, lighting design by Tony winner Jen Schriever, sound design by Walter Trarbach, and costume design by Kathryn Rohe.
Complete casting will be announced in the spring of 2027.
