All-Female Othello Comes to Titan Theatre Company

The Shakespeare tragedy will close out the company’s 2014-15 season.

Titan Theatre Company has announced that the final production of its 2014-15 season will be an all-female version of Shakespeare's Othello. Performances will begin April 17 at the Queens Theatre.

"We have assembled an unrivaled cast of women to tackle one of Shakespeare's most masculine plays," says Titan’s artistic director, Lenny Banovez, who also directs the production. "Following the success of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and A Christmas Carol, Othello is a dynamic end to our exciting season."

The cast will feature Leah Dutchin as Othello, joined by Emily Trask as Desdemona, and Laura Frye as Iago. The company also features Carol Linnea Johnson, Abbey Siegworth, Leah Gabriel, Alyssa Van Gorder, Molly Densmore, Deanna Gibson, Kate Gunther, Alex Spieth, and Carolynne Warren, with Maggie Wetzel, Bailey Seeker, Skyler Volpe, and Sierra Tothero as understudies.

The creative team will include set design is by Jasmine Nicole, lighting design by Alan Piotrowicz, costume design by Becky Willett, sound design by Weston Wetzel, and fight choreography by Jonathan Hicks.
