Sister Sylvester, a performance collective, has announced plans their new work, They Are Gone But Here Must I Remain, September 3-19 at Jack. The production's opening night is scheduled for September 4. Sister Sylvester's Kathryn Hamilton will direct.

They Are Gone But Here Must I Remain is a a multifaceted piece that examines the ties between art and rebellion. It charts the story of Peter Whitehead's 1969 cult film, The Fall, and its influence on international political activism in the 1970s, specifically the 1974 student occupations in Athens. Combining firsthand interviews and research with the company's blend of video and movement-based performance, the new work is staged within the genre of performance lectures.

The cast of They Are Gone But Here Must I Remain will feature Kathryn Hamilton, Kelsea Martin, and Cyrus Moshrefi.

Formed in 2008, Sister Sylvester is a New York-based company that aims to use reality and fiction together to create performances based in contemporary reality. Their work is concerned with power, how it is wielded within our society, and how language becomes a weapon in enforcing those hierarchies.
