The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) has announced the lineup of new musicals planned for the 27th Annual Festival of New Musicals on October 15 and October 16 at New World Stages. The industry-only event presents 45-minute reading presentations with all production costs underwritten by NAMT.

This year's musicals will include Costs of Living (book, music, and lyrics by Timothy Huang); Imagine Harry (music and lyrics by Will Van Dyke, book and lyrics by Jeff Talbott); The Last Queen of Canaan (book by Harrison David Rivers, lyrics by Rebekah Greer Melocik, music by Jacob Yandura); Legendale (music by Andrea Daly, book and lyrics by Jeff Bienstock, story by Bienstock and Daly); Lift (book and lyrics by Daryl Lisa Fazio, music by Aaron McAllister); Noir (music and lyrics by Duncan Sheik, book and lyrics by Kyle Jarrow); On the Eve (story by Michael Federico, Shawn Magill and Seth Magill, music and lyrics by Shawn Magill and Seth Magill, book by Michael Federico); and Othello: The Remix (book, music, and lyrics by the Q Brothers).

"The Festival excites and motivates," said Betsy King Militello, executive director of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre, in a statement. "The musical theatre talent brought together to share eight remarkable — and remarkably different — musicals over two days invigorates and inspires. And the Festival itself is just the starting line for these works and their writers, the beginning of rewarding, future journeys."
